Hunza just got a new teacher, who left her Jobs in Pakistan and came all the way from Islamabad:
Today on BeEducated latest jobs in Pakistan, we have an interesting story about Hunza. Hunza is a beautiful valley inside of Gilgit Baltistan that many people from afar come to visit. People are mainly attracted by the beauty of this valley and how the weather is always so pleasant there but when it comes to education, Hunza doesn’t have the best past or present. Not a lot of children in Hunza get educated like they do in other cities of Pakistan but a 26-year-old software engineer decided she wanted to change that. Marvi Soomro is a young software engineer from Islamabad who had quite a stable new jobs in Pakistan that paid more than a 26-year-old normally earns, left her job to teach the children of Hunza.

This is as crazy as it sounds, why would someone do that? People might think. The reason behind her taking such a big step was to get children educated. She, herself said that she wanted to empower children, which is why she contacted a local school in Hunza and started teaching children the subject of Art.

All of this started when Miss Soomro paid a visit to Misgar, which is a valley inside Hunza that consists approximately 150 houses. It is a small community of people who have a simple village life. They create their own electricity and cook food on wood. Marvi said she had never seen a place so isolated. She started feeling at home within the first week of her travel and extended the trip to two weeks.

When she came back to Islamabad, she started a programme called Inspire, educate and innovate Pakistan. She got a few volunteers who were interested in working. Further, she contacted Sehat Rahim, who is a member of Misgar wildlife conservation society who helped her and the volunteers to get a proper home in Misgar where they can stay.

She and her volunteers rented a place there for 25000 per month and said that this is cheaper than any place in Islamabad and it’s so much more beautiful. Until now. She is still there, teaching and inspiring many children. She now cooks her own meal on wood stoves and does all her work by herself. She said she misses her hometown sometimes but the children have kept her so busy and loved, that she doesn’t ever want to leave.

Marvi, as unique as her name, did something unique and remarkable that should be praised all over Pakistan. She started out with such a simple idea of educating Pakistan and got more than any of us could ever have. Marvi is an amazing woman with a brilliant mind and we need more people like her in Pakistan.
